Quick and easy scrolls – kids lunchbox or snack ideas

quick and easy scrolls kid lunchbox or snack ideas

Sharing is caring!

It is back to school this week after a few weeks break. Back into routines and also packing the dreaded school lunchboxes! But they do not have to be hard! This holidays we tried some quick and easy scrolls. Read on for our recipe and ideas on variations!

These scrolls are made from puff pastry. I have made my own dough in the past but if your wanting quick and easy scrolls then buying frozen puff pastry sheets helps make it all very quick! We tried two different versions of the scrolls. We tried vegemite and cheese and also a pizza style one. You can basically opt for any ingredients your kids like or you want to hide 😉

Frozen puff pastry sheets

Chopped mushrooms

Method:

Preheat your oven to 180 degrees. Get the frozen puff pastry sheets out and let them thaw out. Once thawed top the sheet with your chosen ingredients. Then roll the sheet up so it makes a tube shape. Cut the tube into about 8 pieces. Grease a baking tray and then pop the scroll pieces onto the tray. Bake for about 15 minutes or so depending on your oven. Just keep an eye on them till they have got colour.

Then ta da! Quick and easy scrolls are done! These are so simple and my kids gobbled them up! They are smaller than the ones I make with my own dough so would put a couple in for their lunches (depending on how old your kids are.) Perfect quick and easy scrolls that are very versatile! Someone even said they use puff pastry and top it with jam and have them as a dessert option! Yum!
