Liquid Light Show: Christmas Wonderland
FREE FAMILY SHOWS – Kicking off from 30th of November to 25th December the popular Liquid Light shows are back at the Darwin Waterfront. Experience a showcase of sound, water and light as Liquid Light transforms the Darwin Waterfront. Allow Liquid Light to captivate you with its epic multi-media experience, including laser projection, water fountains, flames and animations, all programmed to an energetic soundtrack. Liquid Light – A Christmas Wonderland, is a free experience, transforming your usual Christmas light display into an amazing night for the entire family. Explore the parklands of the Waterfront, taking in our stunning decorations & enjoying dinner at one of our premier dining venues, before settling in for one of the shows at 7.30pm, 8pm or 8.30pm. Book dinner at your favourite Waterfront venue and enjoy an amazing experience.
Santa at the Waterfront
Santa is coming to the Waterfront again this year, come and see if you’ve made it to the Nice list or not! From Saturday 30th November (every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) He’s so keen on meeting you all and hear about your Christmas wish list! You can catch him on the Peninsula Lawns or roaming around the precinct. Make sure you come down and say hello!
Christmas Carol events
City of Darwin – Carols by Candlelight – Sunday 1st December
One carol event not to be missed! They are going to rock your socks off this year with a joyous celebration of all songs Christmas. Join in with the 50 strong choir, 25 Soloists and the Band of the 1st Brigade the Australian Army Band. Entry is free but a donation at the gate for Variety the children’s charity NT is appreciated. There will be food and soft drinks for sale and you are welcome to bring your own picnic. Gates open at 4:30pm and be sure to get there early enough to secure your favourite bit of grass held at Darwin Amphitheatre at the Botanic Gardens.
Hillsong Darwin Christmas Carol 2024 – Sunday 8th December
Join Hillsong Darwin at 5 Moulden Tce for their 4pm or 6pm show! A spectacular celebration of the true meaning of Christmas. Featuring stunning live performances of the Christmas songs you and your family know and love. They can’t wait to sing along and experience the wonder of Christmas together.
Carols at the Waterpark – Saturday 14th December
Carols at the Leanyer Waterpark is back for 2024. This year you need to BOOK A FREE TICKET here Kids Activities & food starts 5:30pm, Carols start 6:30pm. Entry and kids activities are free, with a pre-booked ticket. Food available for sale. Candles by donation (min $2) with proceeds supporting Food For Life here in Darwin.
Carols by Air Con & Light up Christmas Afterparty – Fri 13th and Sun 15th December
The C3 Church popular community Christmas events are this year combining for two amazing nights of music, fun, light & celebration on December 13 + 15. Join them for indoor CAROLS with glowsticks (6:30-7:30pm) for an hour of all your favourite carols with a fresh modern spin, plus lots of interactive fun. Then stay on site for our LIGHT UP CHRISTMAS AFTERPARTY (7:30 – 9:00 pm with property lights, sausage sizzle, lawngames, playground, photobooth, snowmachines and those amazing Christmas community vibes! YOU ARE INVITED. NOTE: The Carols is ticketed to ensure everyone gets a seat. Prebook yours now for a small charge, with all proceeds going to local charity here. Santa’s Village awaits – November to 21 December
Don’t miss the chance to visit Santa’s Village, open from now to 21 December 2024. Meet Santa at various City of Darwin libraries and at the Galleria shopping centre. Bring your little ones to snap photos and share their wish lists, while enjoying fun activities like face painting and interactive games. Kids’ Christmas Cooking – 7th, 14th and 21st December
Looking for fun and creative cooking for kids? Look no further than Darwin Adult Short Course’s Fun Cooking Classes for Kids, ideal for children ages 8 and up. With a small class size of only 10 students, your child will learn how to make creative and easy food they will love. All materials supplied but students should bring and apron to wear in the kitchen. Places are limited and booking fast. Palmerston Christmas Wonderland – From Monday 16th to Monday 23rd December
Christmas Wonderland is back and guaranteed to sleigh the festive season! Join City of Palmerston for 8 magical nights filled with festive fun, exciting new additions, and plenty of Christmas cheer. Starting on 16th to the 23rd of December from 5:30pm to 9:30pm at Goyder Square Palmerston.

New Years at Darwin Waterfront – 31st December
New Year’s Eve at Darwin Waterfront is set to be a night of family festivities with a packed line-up of local talent, two firework displays, and three epic showcases of Liquid Light. Kicking off from 5pm, the free family-friendly event will feature local musicians before the night rounds out with a DJ from 9pm until midnight. Two spectacular firework displays will light up the sky at 9pm and midnight, accompanied by three showcases of a New Year’s themed Liquid Light. The New Year’s Liquid Light themed show will also be shown from 31st December until 5th of January 2025 if you miss it on New Years!
