National Children’s Week 2019

Children's Week 2019

Did you know National Children’s Week is right around the corner? During this week it is a time to celebrate our kids and showcase their talents and abilities. I’m always looking for ways to encourage my kids in their interests and abilities. It is a daily occurrence at the moment that I bring home multiple “creations” from school with my boys in transition. My big girl loves to paint and draw so I am looking forward to entering my kids in the City of Darwin’s Children’s week artwork Exhibition. There will also be heaps of family fun events happening to celebrate children’s week 2019.

National Children’s Week 2019 is an annual event celebrated in Australia held around the fourth Wednesday in October. A wide range of events and activities are organised throughout Australia and also at a local level throughout the Territory. National Children’s Week celebrates the right of children to enjoy childhood. It is also a time for children to demonstrate their talents, skills and abilities.

These school holidays it is the perfect opportunity to get crafty with your little ones and enter a masterpiece into the artwork exhibition.

For many new mums, even those who went in skeptically, joining their Mother’s Group ended up being one of the best decisions they made, and a place to form lifelong friendships. I know I went along to Early birds with my first born and joined a Mother’s group from there. 8 years on we are still friends!

One way of looking at it is a “family adventure!” My friend once said this too me. Don’t think of it as a holiday as you get disappointed…..what was once a “holiday” before kids is not the same with kids! Shift our mindsets and it can be a bit more enjoyable. It’s still doing all of the same chores and duties but in a foreign place and in front of strangers – who needs the stress, right?

Travelling with kids doesn’t have to be painful, and with a few tips from us, you might actually have a fun and relaxing holiday with your family.
