The Easter long weekend is fast approaching and starting this Friday! Easter egg hunts and activities are happening all around town! Good Friday is on March 30th to Easter Monday April 2nd. Easter is the perfect time of year to enjoy some family time and get out and about to many of the activities happening about town. Darwin Family Life has rounded up some of the fantastic free (or very affordable) activities to do with your family this Easter. We also have found some great free printables for you to keep the kids busy!

Coolalinga Central – Easter Cookie Decorating Wednesday 28th March
Thanks to Coolalinga bakery there will be Easter Cookie decorating from 10.30 am till 11.30 am for all ages while supplies last! No bookings required.
Oasis Shopping Centre – Kids Easter Crafts Monday 26th, Tues 27th and Wed 28th
From 3 pm till 5 pm on Monday – Wednesday, Oasis Shopping Centre located at the corner of Temple and Chung Wah Tce in Palmerston will be holding free Easter Crafts for the kids. Plus on Saturday 31st March 12 pm till 3 pm the kids can meet the Easter Bunny and enjoy a chocolate treat.
Hibiscus Shopping Centre – Easter Brekkie Saturday 31st
They are hosting an Easter brekkie and activities for the kids from 10 am to 1 pm. Enjoy the air conditioned comfort of Hibiscus Shopping centre and the FREE hot cross buns! Our friends at NT Art Storms will be keeping the kids busy with Arts and Crafts, face painting and the Easter Bunny will be arriving at 11 am for Selfies and free Easter egg giveaways!
Darwin Waterfront – Easter Celebrations Saturday 31st
Darwin Waterfront is hosting a big Easter event on Saturday 31st of March from 9 am to 1 pm. There will be lots of fun for the whole family including Mr and Mrs Easter Bunny in their magical burrow for photos and free Easter eggs. There will be jumping castles, water slides, kids DJ mixing tunes, come and try Hockey, sausage sizzle fundraiser. Our friends from Yenz Entertainment will have sand card art and glittering fun, The Burning Circus will have some great craft and other activities happening plus Fairy Jill Enchanted Entertainment will also be there with some circus fun! Plus loads more!
Long weekend Camping at Adelaide River Inn – Friday 30th – Sunday 1st April
Adelaide River Inn located at 106 Stuart Highway – Adelaide River is having FREE camping and powered sites ALL weekend! Lots happening including live music (weather permitting), meat raffles and on Sunday it is the kids day! Kids activities kicking off from 10 am ($5 entry fee per child), jumping castles, face painting, Easter bunny appearance, petting zoo and more! Check out their facebook event here
Lord Mayors – Easter Egg Hunt Saturday 31st March
On Saturday 9 am till 1 pm join in the hunt around the Smith Street CBD Mall and surrounding areas. Plus other kids activities on the day!
Leanyer Recreation Park – Big Egg Hunt Saturday 31st March
C3 Church Darwin are once again hosting the FREE big community Egg Hunt – check in begins at 9 am and the hunt kicks off from 9.30 am. Three different age groups and lots of great prizes to be won if you find tokens! There will also be the Easter bunny, inflatables, coffee and food available plus all the usual water park fun!
Casuarina Square – Easter Egg Hunt Saturday 31st March
On your marks, get set, hop to it! Casuarina Easter Egg Hunt is kicking off from 10 am! Including a GIANT Easter egg PINATA! Only 3 people get a chance to crack the pinata and you need to enter here! Hunt starts from Customer service desk and is for kids 12 years and under. Meet the Bunny on Saturday 10 am till 12 noon or also on Sunday 1st April.
Coolalinga Central – Easter Egg Hunt Saturday 31st March
Kicking off from 10 am till 12.30 pm the first 50 kids to complete the hunt will receive a FREE goodie bag!
Eva’s Botanical Gardens – Easter Egg Hunt Sunday 1st April
Ready to hunt for eggs? From 10 am till 11 am let the kiddies fill their baskets (bring your own!) and enjoy the hunt and Mum and Dad can grab a coffee, brunch or hot cross bun. Easter Family Fun Day at Palmerston Christian School – Sunday 1st April
InChurch are hosting a massive Easter celebration at Palmerston Christian School located at Waler Road Palmerston on Sunday 1st of April 9 am till 12.30 pm. Easter Service begins at 9 am and then followed by family fun day 10.30 am including Easter Egg hunt, petting zoo, face painting, Easter arts and crafts, sausage sizzle and water jumping castle.
