I first met Christene from Party Supplies Direct a few days after we launched our Darwin Family Life website which was in late August 2017. We connected straight away as passionate and driven women in business. This week on the blog we asked her a few questions about her and Party Supplies Direct which she launched in 2017. Party Supplies Direct is your one stop party shop for all your special event needs. From balloons, loot bag goodies, napkins, thank you tags and so much more you must check out their website! 1 Tell me a bit about your business

Party Supplies Direct is a local Territory based family business. We sell Australia wide, but here in Darwin, Palmerston and local surrounds, we have additional services we are proud to be able to provide to the local community. Our favour bag service is also a fantastic if you are busy and would love for someone else to take care of them for your special occasion. Give us a call, we are happy to help and discuss your needs.

At Party Supplies Direct, we can source and supply a wide range of party ware. From balloons, decoration to plates, cups and cutlery. We will be happy to put together a package for your celebration. We stock an exclusive range of party ware that are currently only available through Party Supplies Direct here locally in Darwin.

2. What’s your favourite thing about your business?

Parties and celebrations create memories and we believe that there is nothing more important than being with those you love and cherish. Our favourite thing about our business, is being able to help you create memories and make every occasion special.

3. Why did you sign up with Darwin Family Life (DFL) ?

We are a local business and DFL is a directory for families here in Darwin. It made sense to connect with Amy and support a local business that helps promote our business to Darwin families. It is great being connected to the local community through DFL and as a business owner I know we are getting in front of people locally.

4. What is your favourite thing about Darwin?

We love that Darwin has all the advantages of living in a capital city, but feels like a big country town. We have made Darwin our home after moving from the hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast in South East Queensland. Our family is enjoying a slower pace of life and much more family time.

5. What is your favourite product that you sell?

I don’t really have a favourite product. I love everything we sell and I am always on the look out for new product ranges to style up any special occasion, helping our customers create wonderful memories.

6. What does an average work day look like for you?

The average work day is a balancing act between family, work and business. To be quite honest, I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Up early in the morning to get the day underway. Checking emails is the first job of the day to see what orders need to be sent on their way for the day and answer any customer inquiries. Customer orders are dispatched same day if placed early in the day. Otherwise they will be dispatched the following business day! It is our priority to have our customer’s orders on their way ASAP.

Then it is off to school and work for the family.

After school it is delivering and collecting children to and from their after school engagements. At home it is time to start the evening ritual of dinner, homework and housework. Nothing to glamorous I’m afraid. Once the chores are complete, it is time for me to sit down and work on different aspects of Party Supplies Direct. Anything from social media posts to adding new products and creating blog posts with great party ideas. After a few hours work it is now time for a well earned rest…and most likely my eyes will not stay open any longer.

7. What’s next on the horizon for your business? Anything exciting you would like to share?

We will be introducing a couple of new product lines. They are not currently available any where else here in Darwin. That is exciting!
