Are you ready for our Darwin Easter and April School holidays 2026? (for Darwin public schools, private and independent school holidays may be slightly different – please check with your school). Easter is Good Friday 3rd April to Easter Monday 6th April and School holidays are Tuesday 7th to Sunday 12th April. Students will return to school for Term 2 2026 on Tuesday 14th April (public schools).

Easter story time – Saturday 4th April
Hop on over to Litchfield Community Library for some Easter Storytime fun on Saturday 4th April from 10:30am! They’ll be reading a delightful Easter story and filling the morning with: music, dancing, singing and a special Easter-themed story. It’s the perfect chance for your little ones to celebrate Easter and for families to connect with one another, make new friends and enjoy a fun morning together.
Easter Sunday family fun – Sunday 5th April
Head down to the Beachfront Hotel for a fun-filled Easter celebration these school holidays. Free kids activities including kids face painting from 11:00am, petting zoo from 12pm to 2pm. It’s the perfect Easter day out happy kids, relaxed parents, ocean views, and plenty of photo moments.
April School Holidays
Looking for exciting ways to keep the kids active and entertained these school holidays? Fun in the Parks is a free outdoor program filled with games, laughter and community spirit, perfect for children and families! Join in every Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the school holidays (excluding public holidays) for a morning of fun in our beautiful local parks. Everyone is welcome. Tennis Palmerston Youth Activity Program – Monday 6th to Thursday 9th April
Tennis Palmerson (16 Bonson Tce Moulden) are hosting FREE daily Tennis Sessions for kids aged 10-17yrs from 4pm to 6pm. Fun, game-based tennis lessons with all equipment provided. Just bring a hat, water bottle, and enclosed shoes. No registrations required.
PaRBA – Youth Drop in Sports – various dates
PaRBA are hosting a safe space for youth: social sport, wellbeing, resilience, inclusion, community connection at the Palmerston Recreation Centre on Tuesday 7th, Wednesday 8th, Thursday 9th, Friday 10th and Monday 13th April. Surf Lifesaving NT are hosting FREE sessions in First Aid for 13-25yr olds. Gain Accredited First Aid & CPR qualifications. Attendance at both days required to complete qualification, online learning before training. Sessions being held 9am – 2pm on Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th at 16 De Latour St, Coconut Grove. Ever wanted to test drive a circus workshop at Corrugated Iron? Now is your chance! In this action-packed workshop, you’ll get hands-on with a wide variety of circus skills, including juggling, acrobatics, balancing and even more. Led by Corrugated Iron’s Head Circus Trainer, Nikki Jeffries, this FREE workshop is open to all skill levels, even if it’s your very first-time giving circus a go! Suitable for ages 7-17 years. Surf and Sail – Thursday 9th April
Surf Lifesaving NT and Darwin Sailing Club are hosting a FREE Come and Try – Surf lifesaving nippers and junior sailing for kids ages 6 to 16. Happening on Thursday 9th April at Lake Alexander – 1pm to 3pm. No registrations required.
K-Pop Demon Hunters Dance Workshop – Thursday 9th April
Join in this FREE K-Pop Demon Hunters workshop on Thursday from 2:30pm to 3:30pm at Casuarina Library. Aimed at kids 7-14yrs. Register Online Via City of Darwin Libraries.


NT Youth Week
Northern Territory Youth Week is the single largest celebration of young Territorians aged 12 to 25 years! The event provides a platform for young Territorians to connect, express their ideas, address issues that matter to them, and engage with the wider community through a diverse variety of programs and events. NT Youth Week also seeks to promote a positive view of young people, celebrating their talents, achievements, and their positive impact in the community.

Leanyer Recreation Park
Palmerston Water Park is the second water park in Darwin. It also FREE and open seven days a week. Located at Cnr University Ave and Roystonea Ave (access via Roystonea Ave). The water park includes a 14 metre high – 100 metre long – six-line racer water slide, a wet play area for families and toddlers featuring sprays, water curtains and a shallow wading pool. Another wet play area for teenagers featuring more active water cannons, buckets and high intensity interactive play, a café, toilets and change room facilities, open grassed play area with BBQs, shaded areas and a skate park. ** NOTE the slides have been closed for Maintenance in March – check their Facebook page for updates**
