Fun Bus Mobile Playgroup and Fun in the Parks – City of Darwin
City of Darwin operates various programs and events for children throughout the year including Fun Bus Mobile playgroup (school terms) for 0-5 and Fun in the Parks (school holidays).
Fun Bus Mobile Playgroup
Fun Bus mobile playgroups are a free, fun and informal space where parents, carers, babies and children aged 0 to 5 years can come together to play, learn and connect in a relaxed outdoor setting.
Locations and times
The Fun Bus operates weekdays between 9:30 am and 11:30 am at different locations throughout the municipality of Darwin.
Note: If we are experiencing heavy rain, the Fun Bus program will be cancelled for the day. To confirm if the Fun Bus is operating, please contact us on 0419 031 651 or visit our Facebook page.
Indoor activities: Monday 2 February - Friday 27 March 2026
**Monday sessions are for the families from the local area (Malak and Karama)**
All parents and carers with children up to five years of age are invited! Please bring along a hat, appropriate clothing and your own water bottle.
Annual closures
Please note the Fun Bus does not operate:
- On public holidays
- During the December/January school holidays (6 weeks).

At Fun Bus, children can:

Fun in the Parks
Looking for exciting ways to keep the kids active and entertained in the school holidays? Fun in the Parks is a free outdoor program filled with games, laughter and community spirit, perfect for children and families!
When: Join us every Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the school holidays (excluding public holidays) for a morning of fun in our beautiful local parks.
Who can join: Everyone is welcome. Just drop in and be part of the fun.

What to bring
- A water bottle to stay hydrated
- Comfy shoes and cool clothing
- A hat and sunscreen (we’ll have extra sunscreen available!)
Note: Children must be supervised by a parent or carer at all times.
