Darwin September October School holidays 2023 break is almost here! School holidays will start on Monday 25th September (for Darwin public schools, private and Independent school holidays may be slightly different – please check with your school). Students will return to school for Term 4 on Monday 9th October.

Top End Multi Sports – September School holidays program
TEMS have their popular sports holiday program back for the first week of the September holidays break. For the best holiday fun, book your kids into their holiday program where they have a variety of sports and activities to keep your kids entertained! Whether your kid is a beginner or expert player, their school holiday program provides for all levels of ability. They can expect lots of fun, learn a skill and much more.
Program consists of: Soccer, tennis, volleyball, swimming, movie time and more. Daily activities have flexibility to suit children. For ages 5+ 8am to 4pm (half days and earlier starts available on request)
Monday 25th to Friday 29th September (week 1), Cost is $300 for 5 days or $75 per day

Kindermusik School Holiday Program
Alphonsus Music Studio are hosting their first school holiday program these September/October holidays! This is a FAMILY CLASS- meaning both parents and children (0-7 years old) can participate.
There will be two options to choose from:
Morning Classes- Zoo Train! (5 sessions)
Evening Classes- Carnival of Music (4 sessions)

Baseball NT – Darwin School holiday Clinics – October
Join Baseball NT for 5 action packed days of baseball fun! They will keep your kids active and entertained while learning and developing their throwing, catching, hitting and running skills through skill sessions, drills and games. For 1 Week only!
On from Monday 2nd to Friday 6th October – 8:30am to 3:00pm. New players and everyone aged 5-14 are welcome. Includes all equipment, morning tea and sunscreen. Program will consist of skills sessions including base running, catching, hitting and throwing, morning tea, lunch, wind down activity and Tball/modified game.
What to Bring: Packed lunches, hats and water bottles. Costs are $78 for the first day and $60 for each subsequent day or $250 for the whole week. Click here to register your child.
Bees Creek Horse Riding
‘Own a Pony’ School Holiday program at Bees Creek Horse Riding! Including everything horsey! Horsemanship – grooming feeding horse care, quizes, craft and riding lessons. No experience necessary, suitable for ages 7 to 13yrs.

Just Stitchin – Kids School holiday Sewing Classes
Just Stitchin Sewing Centre in Humpty Doo (2/16 Vereker Street) are offering school holidays workshops. Louise is a qualified trainer who holds a current Orchre Card. Suitable for boys and girls aged 8-12yrs (but not exclusive). Classes are from 10am to 4pm. Bring your own lunch and drink bottle. Water and afternoon tea will be provided. Create your very own masterpiece as you learn simple hand Stichin’ using one of the kitz for kidz range of stichery kits, either level 1 or 2, depending on age/skill level. $180 for the two days. Includes stichery kit and embroidery hoop.
Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th October – Beginner/Intermediate workshop
Felt rainbow heart cushion workshop. In this workshop you will learn to cut out felt and learn simple hand stichery as you stich the layers of felt to make this adorable rainbow cushion. $180 for the two days. Includes felt kit and stuffing.

This FREE skating session is exclusively for young people aged 12-20. Bring your friends and don’t forget your socks! Gaming After Dark – Friday 29th September
Hang out and play casual setups, compete in small Esports competitions, socialise and be around friendly like-minded people! FREE event, For ages 12-17 at Casuarina Library, 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
Deckchair Cinema – Kiki’s Delivery Service Tuesday 3rd October
Following the witch tradition, Kiki leaves home at 13 to complete her training. Armed with her mother’s broom and her cat, Jiji, Kiki has to find her way in a big city full of new people. Screening in Japanese with English subtitles. Tickets are FREE for ages 12-25. Attendees outside that age range will need to purchase a ticket. Book a free ticket here. The first 100 young people (12-25) through the door will also receive a free popcorn!
Bridgestone Car Workshops
Create your very own version of a Bridgestone World Solar Car with Rainbow Monkeys. Prepare your car for Saturday 7 October race day. On Wednesday 3rd October and Thursday 4th October – 10am to midday at the Darwin Waterfront.

The SHAK Youth Hub – at Sanderson Middle School
A drop in youth space for all young people with no registration required, a variety of activities, food and transportation home provided. Food and transport home provided. From 12pm most days of the school holidays till late. For 10-17yr olds. Sanderson Middle School is located at 60 Matthews Road Malak.
Palmerston Recreation Centre/Palmerston Youth Centre/Yspace
Drop in space for youth. Variety of activities include basketball and fun. Food will be provided. Transportation will be provided by Larrakia Nation. More details on activities here under Palmerston tab.
Playshack Palmerston
Why not head into the Playshack located in the Hub complex Palmerston (Shop 7, 3 Maluka Drive). Let the kids run and burn their energy on the massive indoor playground and you can enjoy a coffee or drink and a snacks available for purchase. Their hours during school holidays will be 8.30 am till 2 pm Monday – Friday, plus the usual weekend times of Saturday 9 am till 2pm and Sunday 10 am till 4 pm. Entry is only $9.90 per child and bubs under 1 are free with an older sibling (or $3). Please remember your socks!
Museum and Art Gallery Northern Territory (MAGNT)
The Museum and Art Gallery NT (located at 19 Conacher St) is another great place to take the kids and keep them entertained for a few hours in air conditioning! Entry to the MAGNT is free and they are open Tuesday to Saturday 10am till 4pm and Sundays open 10am till 5pm. Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.
Check out the Pig-nosed Turtle Feeding and Fish feeding at MAGNT. Every Thursday at 10.30am, step inside the Monsoon Garden and get up close with these unique reptiles found only in Northern Australia and Papua New Guinea.
One of the current exhibitions at MAGNT is Tiny Territory – Tiny Territory makes large and wondrous the small, colourful and alien-like invertebrates of the Northern Territory.
