Darwin September and October School holidays 2020 break is fast approaching! We will have a two weeks break for Darwin public schools. Starting Saturday 26th September (Private and Independent school holidays are different – please check with your school). Students will return to school on Monday 12th October for Term 4.

Aquafest 2020 – Saturday 26th September
To celebrate Water Safety Week head along to enjoy a FREE family friendly event, on Saturday 26th September from 10am-1pm at the Palmerston Pool! There will be free entertainment for the whole family with Water Safety giveaways, inflatable obstacle course, Big Splash Bucket, Circus fun, Boof the Barramundi and much more!
TEMS Darwin September and October School Holidays 2020 program
Top End Multi Sports (TEMS) are running their popular sports school holiday program again! Week program from Monday 28th September to Friday 2nd October 8am to 4pm each day (if you need earlier please ask, half days available)

The Village Markets & Indoor Playground – 1st of October Moon festival
Join the team at the Village for their FREE school holiday craft activity on Thursday 1st October in celebration of the Moon Festival from 10am till 2pm.
The Village Markets and Indoor playground will be open during the holidays, Wednesday to Sunday 9.30am to 2pm, showcasing so many local stall holders, delicious coffee and food plus their FREE playground for the kids to enjoy!
YMCA FREE youth pool party at Nightcliff Friday 2nd October
Join the Y at Nightcliff Pool for a free youth pool party from 3pm to 6pm! It is free for ages 4-17. Children under the age of 10 must have adequate supervision of a parent or guardian over the age of 16.
Urban Jams – Friday 2nd October
Casuarina Pool – Inflatable fun! Saturday 3rd October
Casuarina Pool are hosting their Big pool INFLATABLE fun these holidays, from 1pm to 3pm on Saturday 3rd October. This is limited to people aged 6 to 17 years old. To use the inflatable, it is an extra $5 per person on top of Pool Entry. This is paid at the counter on entry. Head along for some cool fun in the sun! (This is a regular fortnightly event)
Kim’s Cubby – Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th October
Young story lovers are invited to join a lineup of local children’s picture book authors for morning-time readings, fun and creative activities at Eva’s Cafe at the Botanic Gardens! Different authors will share their latest books and guide us through special storytime arts and craft, inspiring a life-long love of books, imagination and play. Parents and kids welcome. Held in honour of the life and work of Darwin children’s author, Kim Caraher. Story times from 10am to 12.15pm both days. Tickets available online here
Oasis Shopping Centre – Centre Stage Kids Karaoke Show Saturday 3rd & 10th October
Head into Oasis Shopping Village on October the 3rd and 10th to be part of “Centre Stage” – our exciting new Kids Karaoke experience for ages 8 – 16 years.
This fun and interactive event will run over two Saturdays and is all about kids having a go and having fun. The focus is on participation not competition and will provide an opportunity for any young performer to enjoy a moment in the spotlight, singing a popular song on stage and being exposed to a ‘Popstar’ experience. Registrations will open at 10.15 till 11am each Saturday and there are limited spots. Karaoke performances and best dressed fashion show between 11am-12:15pm.

No Drama Rollarama Skate Sessions and Roller Bop Disco!
Darwin Skate School and Shiner Town are hosting a few skating sessions and Roller Bop big skating session these school holidays!
There will be 3 daytime INDOOR skating sessions and the big Roller Bop disco on Friday night. Let the kids go wild with their skate skills on the massive floor at Marrara stadium. No drama, Easy going, Airconditioned casual skate session with great tunes and plenty of space. All ages and skill levels welcome, safety gear recommended.

Option 1 – Drop and Go!
4 hours of fun in an indoor, sun-safe & air-conditioned environment. They will entertain them with a whole range of fun activities to wear them out. Food is provided.

Option 2 – Sit and Watch!
Get your kids to learn to play while you sit back and enjoy a coffee!
They’ll learn to play in a fun group coaching session, then finish off with a friendly competition using all the skills they’ve just learnt.

Option 3 – Stay and Play
Join the fun and get on court with your kids… Adults play at kids prices! Simply rock up to hire a court for Squash or Racquetball and experience the fun for yourself. You’ll get a great workout while the kids burn energy too – all inside in a sun safe, air-conditioned environment.
Every weekday between 10am & 5pm. $5 per person for 1 hour. Plus FREE racquet hire these school holidays! Available all School holidays 28th September till 9th October.
Swim Dynamics – School Holiday Intensive swimming program
Keep the kids busy these school holidays while also giving their water confidence and swimming skills a bit of a boost at the same time! Develop and practise new skills with a 30 minute group or private lesson. Lessons will be held Monday 28th Sep – Friday 9th Oct (3 classes per week Mon, Wed & Fri) at Nightcliff Pool between 8.30am & 12.30pm (exact time dependent on level). Group Lessons are $50.00 per child per week. Private Lessons – $135 (3 x 1 on 1 lessons per week). Limited spaces available so register today here.
The Planet
The Planet located at 69 Progress Drive Nightcliff have some great School holiday specials on to keep the kids busy and entertained! Taminmin Community Library is hosting a number of events and activities for kids over these school holidays. Located on Challoner Circuit in Humpty Doo.
Casuarina Square – Explore, Create and Play
At Casuarina Square there will be kids activities happening every day during the school holidays from 11am to 1pm. A ‘decorate your own postcard station’ so people can write to those they can’t travel to these school holidays. Zone 3
Zone 3 are having their great school holiday specials back these school holidays. From Monday 28th September until Friday 9th October they will be open from 10am to 6pm for walk in sessions on the weekdays and it is only $15 per person for unlimited laser and arcades deal for 2hrs!
Basketball NT
Basketball NT are holding two FREE fun sessions these school holidays at Leanyer Recreation Park on Wednesday 30th September and 7th October – 3pm to 5pm. For more information contact Adam on participation@nt.basketball.net.au
The Playshack Palmerston
Why not head into the Playshack located in the Hub complex Palmerston (Shop 7, 3 Maluka Drive). Let the kids run and burn their energy and you can enjoy a coffee or drink and a slice of Petra’s Raw cakes available for purchase. The Playshack have extended during school holidays. Their hours will be 8.30 am till 4 pm Monday – Friday, plus the usual weekend times of Saturday 9 am till 5 pm and Sunday 10 am till 4 pm. Entry is only $9.90 per child during the school holidays and bubs under 1 are free. Please remember your socks!
Darwin Ice Skating Centre – special offers!
Our friends at Darwin Ice Skating Centre have some great special offers always on for families! You can skate 1 Parent & 1 Child (5yrs and under) for just $24. Or a family pass of 2 Adults & 2 Children (between 6 Years & 14 Years) is $60.00. If you buy a pre-paid pass for 10 sessions you’ll receive a 20% discount off the total price. The Office of Youth Affairs publishes calendars to promote a wide range of activities and events happening across the Territory in the School holidays.
