Darwin July School holidays 2020 break is fast approaching! We will have a three week break for Darwin public schools. Starting Saturday 27th June (Private and Independent school holidays are different – please check with your school). Students will return to school on Tuesday 21st July for start of Term 3.

FlicNics – Toy Story 4 Saturday 27th June
On Saturday 27 June catch City of Palmerston’s free outdoor movie ‘ Toy Story 4’ at Goyder Square from 7pm to 9pm. Bring along a picnic, blanket, chair or bean bag and enjoy a free family movie night under the stars to start the school holidays! Alcohol free event. Event will be capped at 500 people due to Territory COVID-19 Roadmap Stage 3.
TEMS Darwin July School Holidays 2020 program
Top End Multi Sports (TEMS) are running their popular sports school holiday program again! Week 1 is Monday 29th June to Thursday 2nd July and Week 2 Monday 13th July to Thursday 16th July, 8am to 4.30pm each day. Their program includes tennis, swimming and soccer. Palmerston Hobby Ceramics
Palmerston Hobby Ceramics are holding their fun filled holiday program on Monday 29th June, 6th July and 13th July – drop your child off at 10am until 2pm. Each session there is a ceramic piece of choice for them to then design themselves. This structured workshop allows the school age participants freedom to creatively express themselves. Classes are designed to be fun and relaxing, where friendship is encouraged. Cost $39 all inclusive. Bring own lunch and water bottle everything else is provided. YMCA Free Youth Casuarina Pool Party – Friday 3rd July
Join the Y at Casuarina Pool for a free youth pool party! It is free for ages 4-17 from 3pm to 6pm. Children under the age of 10 must have adequate supervision of a parent or guardian over the age of 16. There will be a free BBQ and also fun activities *INCLUDING INFLATABLE TOYS*. There will also be music and other entertainment! Bring yourself, bring your family, and enjoy the beautiful afternoon that we have planned!

Casuarina Square – Feel Good Fun Fest
The Darwin Waterfront are holding their free holiday fun every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Build a sculpture,, Garden games, sporting come and try and art and crafts! Check out the full program here
Family Fit Dynamics – Kids group fitness classes
Darwin and Palmerston’s newest fitness classes! Outdoor kids group fitness are now available these school holidays in the Palmerston area. Get your kids active and outside these school holidays. Age appropriate group fitness and games for 6-12 year olds. Every weekday morning at 9:15 am. These classes are capped at 20 participants so bookings are essential. City of Darwin libraries
The City of Darwin libraries will have a full three weeks of FREE fun activities these school holidays, at their four libraries (Karama, Casuarina, Darwin City and Nightcliff). Activities include
First aid workshops, STEAM workshops, movies, LEGO club, scavenger hunt with prizes more! Some activities are suitable for certain ages. Bookings required – for some activities. Click here to book Check out the full program here

Swim Dynamics – School Holiday Intensive swimming program
Keep the kids busy these school holidays while also giving their water confidence and swimming skills a bit of a boost at the same time! Develop and practise new skills with a 30 minute group or private lesson. Lessons will be held Monday 29th Jun – 17th Jul (3 classes per week Mon, Wed & Fri) at Nightcliff Pool between 9am & 12pm (exact time dependent on level). Group Lessons are $50.00 per child per week or $120 for all 3 weeks. Private Lessons – $135 (3 x 1 on 1 lessons per week). Limited spaces available so register today here.
The Planet located at 69 Progress Drive Nightcliff have some great School holiday specials on to keep the kids busy and entertained! For $25 per person you can get 2 games of bowling, full motion virtual reality ride, shoe hire, hotdog, fries and a drink*! Taminmin Community Library is hosting a number of events and activities for kids over these school holidays. Located on Challoner Circuit in Humpty Doo.
The Playshack Palmerston
Why not head into the Playshack located in the Hub complex Palmerston (Shop 7, 3 Maluka Drive). Let the kids run and burn their energy and you can enjoy a coffee or drink and a slice of Petra’s Raw cakes available for purchase. The Playshack have extended during school holidays. Their hours will be 8.30 am till 4 pm Monday – Friday, plus the usual weekend times of Saturday 9 am till 5 pm and Sunday 10 am till 4 pm. Entry is only $8.50 per child during the week and bubs under 1 are free. Please remember your socks!
Darwin Ice Skating Centre – special offers!
Darwin Ice Skating Centre – are BACK OPEN!!! Our friends at Darwin Ice Skating Centre have some great special offers always on for families! You can skate 1 Parent & 1 Child (5yrs and under) for just $24. Or a family pass of 2 Adults & 2 Children (between 6 Years & 14 Years) is $60.00. At Brick Station there is something to suit everyone. The toddler area provides a range of bricks & blocks to build with as well as their own mini ramp to test their Duplo® vehicles. The Office of Youth Affairs in Territory Families publishes calendars to promote a wide range of activities and events happening across the Territory in the School Holiday.
