Australian Breastfeeding Association Darwin, Palmerston & Rural Group
You don't need to be a member to come along!
We offer mothers and families information and problem-solving support related to breastfeeding. Group meeting topics might include basic breastfeeding tips, expressing and storing breastmilk, supply issues, returning to work, weaning, introducing solids, nighttime parenting and much more. Come along and meet new friends, chat to and get hints and tips from other mothers who've "been there" and talk to a trained, volunteer breastfeeding counsellor. Whether you are pregnant, fully breastfeeding, partially breastfeeding, expressing or formula-feeding you will be welcomed. Partners, grandparents, friends and other suppport people are welcome to come along. See our Facebook page for details about upcoming events.
Although breastfeeding is natural, it doesn't always come easily and is a learned skill. Our Breastfeeding Education Classes aim to provide expectant parents with the knowledge and confidence to successfully breastfeed - learn how to prepare for the vital days, weeks and months after your baby's birth and ask all those burning questions. There are face to face classes in Palmerston, or check out Breastfeeding Education Live for an online option.
Our local group has Ardo Carum and Medela Symphony hospital-grade breast pumps for hire and Ardo breast pumps for sale, call Paula on 0402 084 717.
Purchase instantly-downloadable eBooks about specific breastfeeding situations and other resources through our online shop. Our website also has lots of free articles and research about all aspects of breastfeeding.
