MOTHERLOAD explores the invisible and visible labour of modern motherhood, a collective reckoning and remembering — of identity shifts, emotional extremes, and the moments of grace found in chaos.
Objectively motherhood often interrupts careers, identity, artistic practice, sleep, and autonomy. But it also forces reflection, reinvention, and resilience, this is the work result of that. Rather than framing motherhood solely through the lens of sacrifice or sanctity, MOTHERLOAD makes space for ambiguity: exhaustion, rage, joy, creativity, silence, and transformation. This exhibition provides an honest, non-romanticized reflection of motherhood and invites broader societal empathy. The MOTHERLOAD opening will include a collaboration with Hungry Hearts Collective presenting a version of the performance, MUM* Guilt Confessional.
