International Women's Day celebration 2025

💜 Celebrate International Women’s Day 2025 with us! 💜

Join City of Darwin on Saturday 8 March 2025, as we come together to honour the rights, equality, and empowerment of women and girls everywhere. ✨

Schedule:
🎶 8:30 am – Gather in the Civic Centre courtyard (Harry Chan Avenue, Darwin) for giveaways, Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony, and entertainment
🚶‍♀️ 9:00 am – Walk through the city, finishing at Civic Park. Our Kool Kats, Roving Performers and other guests will join the walk.
🎭 9:15 am – 11:00 am – Enjoy a variety of activities:
📚 Entertainment & information stalls
🎤 Guest speakers sharing inspiring stories
🚌 Fun Bus for the little ones
🍔 Free community BBQ
🌭 Food trucks
💧 Power and Water trailer to top up your bottle

🚗 Parking & transport:
✅ Free on-street parking (Zones B & C – Saturday mornings)
✅ Free off-street parking at Civic Centre, Nichols Place & Darwin Oval
✅ Paid parking available at State Square Car Park
❌ West Lane Car Park will be closed
🚌 Free bus travel available on the Darwin bus network.

This event is accessible, with an Auslan interpreter for pre-walk speeches and a short-course option available.
