A Darwin based seminar where the latest research on the use of Induction in Australia will be presented by Professor Hannah Dahlen. Prof. Dahlen will critique previous research on induction and look at the short and long term health impacts for babies who are induced. Dr Treasure McGuire will speak about the pharmacological drugs commonly used at birth and how they may impact establishment of successful breastfeeding. Local speakers include Midwife Monika Zdyb, who will share information on how the first hour after birth can be managed to promote optimal primal bonding and Perinatal Social Worker, Amanda Stinton, who will use recent Australian studies to challenge the concept of ‘Baby Brain’ and how we can support the well-being of new mothers from a strengths based approach.
This seminar will include a delicious morning tea, lunch and tea and coffee (vegan options available)
