However, we do highly recommend purchasing the book pack to accompany the webinar. You will be shown how to use the book and activity book during the webinar, and this will be a great resource in helping teach your child.

During the presentation you will learn ways to teach your children:

They have rights in relation to their body
Some parts of their body are private
If someone does touch their private parts, asks them to touch their private parts, shows them their private parts or shows them images of private parts that they should tell a trusted adult and keep on telling until they are believed
There are secrets, such as someone touching their private parts, that should never ever be kept.
About the “My body, What I say Goes” – Softcover book

A book to empower and teach children about personal body safety, feelings, safe and unsafe touch, private parts, secrets and surprises, consent, and respectful relationships.

This child-friendly and age-appropriate picture book provides everything a child needs to know to help keep them safe from inappropriate touch.

They will learn to identify safe and unsafe feelings, recognize early warning signs, develop a safety network, use the correct names for private parts, respect others’ personal body boundaries, understand the difference between safe and unsafe touch, and the difference between secrets and surprises.

Throughout the book, open-ended questions are provided so children have an opportunity to voice their ideas about the key messages. Further discussion questions are included at the back of the book.

In this essential parent training, you will learn how to use the activity book and most importantly how to teach and empower children to understand the ‘5 body safety rules’ to protect children from harm and abuse.

Who is this event for?

Families of young children with disability, developmental delay or medical needs aged birth to 8 years across New South Wales.

While our events are primarily designed for these families, we value inclusivity and welcome all who would like to participate.

My child is nonspeaking/and or has an intellectual disability, will the information still be relevant for me?

Yes, the information given at the webinar is relevant for ALL children.

After you have participated in the webinar, you could speak to your child’s therapy team about how to best implement the information for your family.

What does the $25 cover?

The webinar is free to attend.

The $25 payment covers purchase of the book pack (book and activity book) and postage.

Will my book reach me in time?

While Kindred will take all the necessary steps to ensure your book arrives before the webinar, we cannot be held responsible for delays in postage due to COVID, weather or other issues.

Does my NDIS funding cover the purchase of the book pack?

YES! If you are self-managed or plan managed – the course cost can be claimed through NDIS Capacity Building funding for Improved Daily Living.
