2023 Daminmin Festival – Art and Cultural Festival

Daminmin Festival is back for 2023! A beautiful two-day arts and culture festival.

Join us for bush camping beside the Pudakul Billabong just east of Humpty Doo, in the Adelaide River wetlands, on Limilngan-Wulna country.

This festival is created in partnership with Pudakul and Darwin Community Arts (DCA), under the artistic and cultural direction of Lynette and Graham Kenyon. It is a celebration of art and culture in the rural area, highlighting First Nations culture alongside a range of contemporary artistic practices.

Daminmin Festival showcases a fusion of traditional and contemporary First Nations and rural arts and culture. We will share traditional Indigenous arts and culture alongside rural arts and culture. Workshops will include Weaving, clap stick making, bush foods and medicine, dyeing, drawing, dancing. We will also showcase a collection of great local short films, local mucsicians, and dances.

Entry by Donation- some workshops are FREE and some you will pay a fee onsite.

Friday 30th June from 11 am we will enjoy the opening ceremony with the Garamilla Dancers, followed by a host of arts activities and cultural workshops nestled amongst the bush.

In the evening we will enjoy a short film festival with NT traveling Film Fest followed by a Nocturnal Walk.

Saturday 1st July we will continue with workshops through the day followed by a sunset concert with Shellie Morris and the Arrkula Yinbayarra Choir from Borroloola and the Wairuk Band.

Sunday 2nd We invite you to pack up at your leisure taking the great community and connection vibes into the week ahead.
